Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has set up the state’s
Geographical Information System (YOGIS) to check illegal buildings and
structures in Damaturu.
The establishment of YOGIS, was effected by signing Executive Order
002 at the weekend in Damaturu, the state capital.
According to him, Dr. Abdullahi Hassan Gana, has also been appointed
the Director-General of the geographical information system.
While speaking on system’s steering committee, he said: “The Deputy
Governor, Idi Barde Gubana, is the head of committee, while Gana, the
Director-General of YOGIS be also the Secretary.
“The Commissioners of Land and Solid Mineral Development, Budget and
Planning, Finance and Economic Planning and the Executive Chairman of
Boar of Internal Revenue, are members of YOGIS steering committee.”
He said that all the appointments; are with immediate effect to check
illegal buildings and structures in the state.
