NIGERIA@60: ALAPOMU CHAIRS PANEL ON OSUN ESSAY COMPETITION

His Royal Majesty, Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi, Atoyebi II, the Alapomu of Apomuland has been nominated to chair the panel of judges that will determine the winners for the essay Competition organized by the State of Osun Government through the ministry of Regional Integration and Special Duties to commemorate the diamond jubilee Anniversary of Nigeria.

Oba Afolabi will lead other distinguished Nigerians like Dr. Lasisi Olagunju, an editor with Nigerian Tribune, Dr. Mrs Temitope Akintunde and Dr. Folorunso Oladapo, both educationists with the former being the head of department of Economics in Osun State University and the latter who is the director of General Education Studies at the Adeleke University Ede respectively. Bayo Adeyinka who is an author, public speaker and seasoned banker is also on the panel.

The essay competition which was organized for Osun state indigenes in tertiary institutions across Nigeria aims at developing and promoting creative writing amongst the students. It is also an avenue to air out students’ views on the post effects of Covid19 pandemic.

All entries are expected on or before Friday 25th September, 2020 while the event takes place on the 1st of October, 2020.

Interested students are enjoined to submit their articles on the mail provided and make the contest a lifetime opportunity.
