YBSU Sensitises Communities, Donates Sanitisers To Fight COVID-19

The Yobe state University (YBSU); has embarked on sensitization
exercise and donation of hand washing sanitizers to dozens of host
communities.
The exercise and donations are in compliance with the Yobe State
COVID-19 preventive committee led by Deputy Governor, Alhaji Idi
Gubana.
While leading officials of varsity Thursday in Damaturu, the Vice
Chancellor, Prof. Mala Daura disclosed that the massive sensitization
exercise against coronavirus was part of varsity’s social
responsibilities to host communities.
“We’ve over two dozen communities to serve and support in the fight
against the deadly virus that claimed over 86,000 lives globally,” he
said, saying that the University has also donated washing sanitizers.
According to him, the sensitization exercise and support; are to
complement government efforts in the fight against the pandemic with
zero status.
Prof. Daura explained that the hand washing sanitizers produced by the
Center for Research and linkages of varsity; has been donated to
State’s COVID-19 committee for distribution to communities.
He therefore, urged the communities to strictly adhere to advice
provided by health workers.
On preventive measures, he said: “The people should observing social
distancing, regular hand washing and maintaining good respiratory
habits among others.”
While speaking on behalf of the host communities, Malam Bulama
Hussaini commended the University for the support and pledged to make
good use of distributed sanitizers.
