Yobe Flour, Feed Mills Operate At full Capacity

The resuscitated Yobe Flour and Feed Mills (YFFM) are operating at
fully installed production capacity of 50 tons of products daily.
The Potiskum mills; were installed with both ‘mechanical and civil
engineering’ sections of factory.
While announcing mills’ installed capacity Thursday in Potiskum, the
General Manager, Alhaji Samaila Musa disclosed that the 50 ton daily
capacity is produce maize grits and flour, including brans to feed
livestock.
According to him; “Our intention is to feed the whole of the Northeast
zone and not only Yobe State.”
He said right now, another milling machine of 90-ton capacity a day;
will be installed to increase installed capacities of flour and feed
mills.
Speaking on mills support of farmers, he said: “We also have a rice
milling machine which has not been reactivated.
“We are working in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP) on
the patronage and supporting farmers across the state.”
He said that the company has N9 million capital takeoff to process
over 80 tons of maize and 10,000 packaging sacks for distribution and
sale.
Musa hinted that the contractors handling the secondary schools
feeding programme in Gombe and Bauchi States had indicated interest in
the company’s products.
