TROOPS ARREST 5 TERRORISTS IN IDENTIFICATION OPERATIONS IN BORNO, YOBE

Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole; have arrested five terrorists’ logistic suppliers and fighters, while conducting ‘operation identify your selves’ at military checkpoints in northeast.

The arrests; followed an intensive search and arrests of suspected fleeing criminals from the Lake Chad region and Sambisa Forest. Spokesman of Operation Lafiya Dole, Col. Ado Isa; disclosed this Tuesday in Maiduguri, while briefing journalists on ongoing operations along six roads in Borno and Yobe states. According to him; “Based on credible information that some of the fleeing criminals are hibernating in some towns and villages of two states. Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj-Gen. Olusegun Adeniyi also enjoined members of the public to always carry their valid means of identifications.

Such identifications, according to him, include national identification card, while commuting or passing through Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states. He also directed troops to strictly check for legitimate means of identification such as National Identification and Voters Registration cards, Drivers’ License and international passports or any other valid identification; before allowing people’s passage.

He said the identification operations, are ongoing at checkpoints of roads and highways of insurgency affected states in the region. He urged the residents to fully cooperate with troops to rid the fleeing criminals in northeast.
