The Yobe state police commissioner, Abubakar Sahaho, has assumed office, as Sunmonu Abdulmalik bows out yesterday, after policing for 35 years in nation. Spokesman of police command, ASP Abdulmalik Abdulhafeez in a statement Tuesday in Damaturu, disclosed;
“A new commissioner of police, Yahaya Sahabo Abubakar, has been posted to Yobe state,” adding that he has since assumed duty by the taking the policing leadership from retired Abdulmaliki.
According to him, Sahabo is a seasoned police officer, with vast experience in policing within and outside the country. Continuing, he added: “He hails from Hong local government council of Adamawa State and holds LLB (Hons) from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. “He also obtained BL in Law, at the Nigeria Law School, Lagos.
” He said that the new police chief’s last place of assignment, was in charge of community policing units in research and planning department of Force Headquarters, Abuja. Sahabo also served in Kaduna, Kogi, Plateau and Rivers states.
