The Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai has commissioned the Fika mini water dam project to cement civil-military relationship between Nigerian Army and host communities in Yobe state. The completion of water dam project was supported by army engineers to overcome lingering water supply problems of Fika communities. Buratai, who was represented by the General Officer Commanding of 3 Division, Maj-Gen. Ben Ahanotu disclosed that the water project is part of Army’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to host communities in the Northeast. The Emir of Fika and Chairman Yobe State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammadu Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idris (CON), who attended yesterday’s commissioning ceremony also said the perennial water problems of communities in Fika has been addressed. He said the council had been facing water supply problems and other water borne diseases for over two decades.
