NPDP LEADERS TO MEET WITH NATIONAL WORKING COMMITTEE OF APC ON MONDAY ON WAY FORWARD

The leaders of the New Peoples Democratic Party will tomorrow (Monday) meet the National Working Committee members of the All Progressives Congress (APC )  to discuss issues raised in a letter issued by the N-PDP.

The N-PDP members that merged with some political parties that led to the formation of the All Progressives Congress had issued a letter to the National leaders of APC calling for urgent meeting to address some of the issues affecting the party.

Addressing journalists on Sunday  in Ilorin, the leader of the N-PDP, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje debunked some media reports that leaders of N-PDP gave the APC National Working Committee members seven days ultimatum to address issues raised in the letter.

Alhaji Baraje explained that the leaders of APC were advised to address the issues within seven days before the commencement of the party’s Congresses.

He however charged the ruling party leaders to engage in a roundtable discussion with other parties that formed the ruling party to address some of the pertinent issues that could lead to internal crisis and affect the party in next year’s polls.

On the Party’s State Parallel Congresses held across the country, Alhaji Baraje who said the parallel Congress was held in twenty one States out of twenty four States controlled by the Party, said this scenario portends serious danger to the ruling party.

He added that majority of people that held parallel Congresses across the country are federal government officials.

According to him, those presently in the ruling party still have interest in the party and are patience, warning that there is limitation to their patience.

Alhaji jBaraje therefore cautioned that what they cried against during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan is happening presently, pointing out that the ruling Party must stand for governance and once it is absent , many things would be affected.
