Gaidam pays workers’ salaries ahead of Eid-el-Kabir celebrations

Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe state has approved the immediate
payments of workers’ salaries for August, 2017 to enable them prepare
for the Eid-el-Kabri celebrations, slated for Friday next week across
the state.

Director of Press Affairs to the Governor, Abdullahi Bego disclosed
this on Friday in a statement issued to journalists in Damaturu, the
state capital.

He said the immediate payments of salaries; include the ones for 17
Local Government Councils and Local Education Authority teachers.
The statement reads: “Payment mandates have been issued for the state
account and the joint state/local government account.

“Affected banks have begun the process of crediting ‘mother’ accounts
in individual banks from where each worker’s accounts will be
credited.

“Workers banking with UBA, for instance, have already started
receiving their payment alerts. The Ibrahim Gaidam administration has
remained consistent in catering for the needs of the people of the
state, including ensuring that workers are paid their salaries
regularly and on time.”
