PDP CONDOLES VICTIMS OF BAUCHI WINDSTORM, FIRE INCIDENT

Date:

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commiserated with the government and people of Bauchi state, particularly, the victims of the devastating windstorm in the state as well as the fire incident that razed the popular Azare Market. Indeed, the PDP has been grief-stricken over the death of innocent Nigerians in the tragic windstorm, which had also traumatized many families with bereavements, materials losses, pain and anguish. The PDP at the moment is deep in prayers and joins all people of faith across the country in supplications to the Almighty God for the peaceful repose of the souls of the faithful departed and fortitude to the bereaved to overcome their grief. In the same vein, the PDP consoles the victims of the Azare Market fire who are now confronted with huge losses, especially given that many of them are breadwinners for their families, struggling to make ends meet under the current excruciating economic condition of our nation. Indeed, our thoughts and prayers also go out to them as we pray God, in His infinite mercies to bring succor to them all. The PDP calls on the Government of Bauchi state and all public-spirited individuals and groups to do all to come to the aid of the victims of these disasters at this critical time in their lives. The PDP also urges relevant government agencies to put measures in place to mitigate the effect of natural disasters in the future. The party further calls on the state government to investigate the cause of the fire incident, as well as finding immediate solutions to the reported lack of access road into the market that resulted in the inability of fire fighters to effectively contain the situation.
