LAGOS ASSEMBLY TO COMMENCE CONSIDERATION OF THE AUDITOR GENERAL’S REPORT ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND LCDAs

The Lagos State House of Assembly through the House Committee on Public Accounts (Local) will be embarking on audit exercise on all Local Governments and Local Government Developments Areas of the State from Monday 15th April, 2019.

The exercise is sequel to the audited report on the spending and finances of all the LG and LCDAs for the year ending, December 2017. The consideration of the report by the House Committee on Public Accounts (Local) is expected to ensure probity, accountability and transparency on financial dealings by the LGs across the State.

During the exercise, officials of the LG and LCDAs are expected to come along with necessary documents that would assist in clarification and provide necessary information on issues raised against them in the audit report.

The Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts (Local), Hon. Bisi Yusuf will be leading the team to deliberate the Auditor General’s report on Local Government that ended on the 31st December, 2017.

Other Members of the Public Accounts Committee (Local) include Hon. Abiodun Tobun, Hon. Adefunmilayo Tejuoso, Hon. Moshood Oshun and Hon. Richard Kasumu amongst others.

The exercise is expected to commence on Monday April 15th to 24th April at the Lateef Jakande Auditorium in the Lagos Assembly Complex, Alausa, Ikeja.
