ARMY ARRESTS WANTED BOKO HARAM TERRORIST IN BORNO

Troops of 7 Division Garrison, Nigerian Army have arrested a wanted Boko Haram terrorist on Thursday, while hiding in Bulabulin-Ngarnam community of Borno state. The wanted suspect, Babagana Abubakar (aka Alagarno); was arrested while hiding in one of community houses located along Maiduguri-Damboa road. Spokesman of Army, Brig-Gen. Sani Usman in a statement released Friday in Maiduguri; disclosed that; “The terrorist suspect; was arrested while carrying out “cordon and search operations” by troops of 195 Battalion, Mobile Police and Civilian JTF on outskirts of Maiduguri metropolis. According to him, the troops on January 10, 2019; discovered and arrested a wanted Boko Haram member hiding in Bulabulin-Ngarnam village. He said after the arrest, the suspect was in the possession of two military Ballistic helmets, a pair of military desert boot, a fragment jacket, a Jersey pull over and military backpack. Other items recovered, he added, include a camouflage design shorts, two voters’ identification cards, National identity card, amulets, camouflage T-shirts and military jungle hat. While commending the troops, Usman said: “The Acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division, who is also the Commander of Sector one, Operation Lafiya Dole had visited the troops. “He conveyed the Theatre Commander, Maj-Gen. Benson Akinroluyo’s commendations of troops on gallantry their professionalism. He said the arrested suspect, has been moved out from the area for further interrogations.
