UPDATE ON JNR POPE : All movies involving riverine area and boat riding has been suspended, actors barred from featuring in movies produced by Adamma Luke

The actors Guild of Nigeria has suspended all movies involving riverine area and boat riding across the country.

In a statement released, the AGN President, Emeka Rollas, also barred all actors from featuring in any movie produced by Adamma Luke

Adamma is the producer of the movie that actor Junior Pope was featuring in before his untimely death. Late Jnr Pope and four other crew members were riding on a boat leaving the movie location when they were involved in an accident on Wednesday, April 10.

The actor and one other crew member identified as Friday have been confirmed dead. The bodies of three others are yet to be found.

The metropolis was flooded on September 22, 1994, destroying many lives and property, including Borno Radio Television (BRTV), markets and houses built along the banks of River and tributaries. She said that the Agency had been communicated on CBDA’s plan this week to release the excess water from the dam into the River. According to her, River Ngadda has filled to capacity in the last month from the recent down pour of rainfall. She lamented the loss of 15 lives drown into the river and destruction of farmlands along the banks of Ngadda and tributaries. She, therefore, urged the residents living along the river banks to immediately move to safer upland areas of the metropolis. Meanwhile, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has also deployed personnel to strategic locations along the river to prevent children from swimming.
