PDP BoT, Rivers Governor Wike Meeting Ends In Deadlock Feyisayo Helen

Date:

Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara, has briefed newsmen on the closed door meeting held with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday.

Wabara said they had a frank discussion but no conclusion has been reached.

Journalists were earlier barred from covering the meeting between members of the Board of Trustees, Peoples Democratic Party and their host, Wike at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

It was learnt that Governor Wike had opened his doors to the state house reporters, but on second thought, he had asked the leader of the visitors and acting BoT chairman of the party, Adolphus Wabara, if he didn’t mind an open meeting.

Wabara reportedly answered in the negative, and newsmen were excused.

The almost four-hour closed door meeting in Government House, Port Harcourt ended at about 4:35 pm as the attendees came out smiling and exchanging banters before newsmen.

He said: “We have not concluded. You know it is always easy to discuss. But to make peace takes sometime.

“We are better informed. We have gotten some new information. Every coin has two sides. In concrete terms, it is work in progress.”
