The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists have abducted a policeman, seven Civilian JTF and hunters in Gubio Local Council of Borno state.
The kidnapped policeman and seven others were overpowered by the terrorists, while conducting patrols in the Gubio-Damasak axis on Saturday along Maiduguri/Damasak road.
A counter-insurgency expert, in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, stated, yesterday (Saturday) in Maiduguri, that the joint patrol team of the police and Civilian JTF, was attacked by the terrorists at the Rural Grazing Areas (RUGA) of Pompom Baliya village.
According to him, the RUGA is located only five kilometres west of Gubio Township along the Maiduguri-Damasak road.
He said that the terrorists, after the abduction of a policeman and seven Civilian JTF however; snatched a Hilux patrol vehicle and weapons into Gadai village into the neighboring council of Nganzai.
