Borno PDP Passes Vote Of No Confidence On Chairman

Date:

The Borno State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has passed a vote of no confidence on its Chairman, Zannah Gadama.

Gadama has already been suspended for a month by the seven-member State Working Committee (SWC).

Passing the vote of no confidence in a communique issued, yesterday (Thursday), in Maiduguri, the party’s legal adviser, Abdu Jidda disclosed that Gadama’s deputy, Bunu Satomi takes over the political affairs of PDP in the state.

“The leadership of Gadama in the State has been compromised,” he said, stating that the suspended Chairman is a sale out to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to him, the vote of no confidence and suspension, were based on the breach of party’s 2017 constitution by not calling for meetings of the executives and stakeholders.

Besides, he added that there were alleged misappropriation of party funds including other anti-party activities during Gadama’s tenures in the state.

He lamented the denials of PDP to win various elective positions during the 2015 and 2019 general elections in Borno.

Jidda, therefore, called on the leadership of party to restore sanity among the stakeholders and allies of the former Chairman.

“The people of Borno are in dire need of good governance and accountability to overcome poverty and unemployment among youths and women,” he said.
