Yahaya Clears Coast For Investors, Others In Gombe

Governor Muhammadu Yahaya of Gombe State; has said that the coat is cleared for investors and others with infrastructural facilities to industrialize and develop the Northeast. According to him, the industrialization of the State has become a hub in the region for industrial activities to takeoff. The Governor spoke at the weekend, while commissioning the state of the art factory, Hara Foam Chemical Limited in Gombe, the state capital. He said that the State Government will continue to provide an enabling environment for the firm and other investors to promote economic activities in the state.

Yahaya, who was represented by the Trade, Industry and Tourism Commissioner, Nasiru Aliyu, noted that the commissioning of the firm marks a limestone in the manufacturing sector of the insurgency affected states. The 12-year Boko Haram insurgency has killed over 36,000 people with destroyed property worth $9.2 billion (N3.42 trillion in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states. Besides, he added that it was of great significance in promoting good health and households’ comfort with the local production of bed-foams.

“We’re proud to be identified with this laudable manufacturing project which falls in line with our administration’s agenda to rapidly industrialize the state,” he declared; adding that this will actualize President Muhammadu Buhari’s industrial park to reach its peak. Other sited industries, he added included; the Madugu cement factory and the engagement of consultants to explore oil and gas in the state. While thanking the Governor for the enabling environment, the Chief Executive Officer of the firm, Chief Cosmos Ugwu assured that 1,000 workers will be employed before the end of this year.
