Hon. Haruna Mshelia representing Hauwal/Askira/Uba federal constituency at National Assembly has lit seven communities with electricity in Borno. Other constituency completed projects include the constructions of two blocks of classrooms each in seven communities, including Malang, Hydra and Askira/Bolor towns. While inaugatating the completed projects Wednesday in Askira, Governor Babagana Zulum disclosed that the electrifications of communities will resume full academic activities without hindrance. He noted that the establishment of new substation with new ones at Chamlam Bulguma, Askira, Kids, Bolikatau and Gwongwa could revive dormant cottage industries in the state. According to Mshelia, the completion of two blocks of classrooms each in seven communities is to promote girl child education and literacy among households.
On empowering youths, the legislator said: ‘We’ve engaged 100 youths in hair dressing and handset repairs with kits.” Other projects commissioned yesterday, include completed primary healthcare centre at Kurgi/Uba. He said COVID-19 control and preventive measures were provided to General Hospitals and health centres of constituency.
