The Borno state sector command of federal road safety corps (FRSC) has engaged 362 personnel to control traffic during the Eid-el-Fitr in Borno, The State’s sector commander, Sanusi Ibrahim in a statement Tuesday in Maiduguri, the state capital disclosed that 314 regular and 48 special marshals are deployed to Maiduguri metropolis and other towns in the state. He said the deployed personnel would be working with the military, police, Civil Defense and the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).According to him, there will be heavy vehicular traffic and movement of people which usually result in traffic congestion in different parts of Maiduguri.
He said that the corps members have commenced special patrols in order to ensure free flow of traffic during Eid-el-Fitr festivities. Continuing, he said: “We want to ensure free flow of traffic and other road traffic infractions including traffic control at different locations, particularly in Maiduguri the state capital. “They would be deployed to five identified prayer grounds in Maiduguri metropolis and some locations experiencing gridlocks.” He therefore urged motorists and other road users for maximum support and cooperation, while the personnel are expected to be friendly, firm and cautious in their dealings with the public.
