COAS’s Death, 10 Other Military Officers Are Great losses To Nation

The Yobe State Governor and Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni is shocked and saddened over the deaths of Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 other military officers in the Kaduna air crash.Buni in a statement of his Director of Press and Media Affairs; described the deaths of Attahiru and senior military officers as a great loss to the nation.According to Buni; “The demise of these top military officers at this moment when Nigeria needs their services most, is indeed a great loss to the army and Nigeria and the people of the country.”

He therefore condoles with President Muhammadu Buhari, the Vice President; Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the Nigeria Army and the families of the deceased officers.He described the deaths of 11 military officers as fallen heroes who laid their lives for the service of the country.He therefore expressed optimism that Nigeria would overcome the security challenges and emerge victorious over the terrorists and enemies of humanity.He said the Nigeria army should re-dedicate itself to overcome the security challenges as a mark of honour and respect to the deceased COAS and the other fallen officers.He prayed to God to grant the souls of the deceased officers’ eternal rest and, to their families, government, Army and the people the fortitude to bear the great loss.He said the deaths of military officers came at critical point in the ongoing fight against terrorism, banditry and other security challenges.
