Zulum greets Buhari, thanks Nigerians for renewed patriotism

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state; has conveyed well wishes to
President Muhammed Buhari and other citizens’ as Nigeria celebrates
its 60th independence anniversary.

Zulum in a statement signed yesterday in Maiduguri, the state capital
thanked Nigerians from north and south of country; for showing empathy
for Borno people amid over a decade long challenges of insecurity to
lives and property.

While expressing obligations, he said: “Extend our profound gratitude
to millions of fellow Nigerians in the north and south who have
ceaselessly demonstrated empathy for Borno State.

“We’ve gone through a phase of security challenges which we shall
overcome by the grace of God,”

He noted that he has received and observed genuine concerns and
prayers for the collective safety of people in the ongoing “peace
building, recovery and resettlement efforts.”

Continued; “The state government deeply appreciates the love shown to
us by countless Nigerians and from leaders at different levels.”

He said with the level of support being received, the optimism for
“peace and recovery” had continually been increasing.

While the hopes of people, are as fresh with trust and confidence in
the gallant armed forces and volunteers who have shown great
sacrifice.

He said the troops are also committed to people’s shared desires for a
peaceful Borno state, Northeast and the nation that marks its 60th
independence anniversary.

“We have the same trust and confidence in the leadership of our armed
forces led by the Commander-in-Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari,” he
said.

He said the President has been listening with clear evidence of
compassion for Borno and genuine willingness to end Boko Haram crisis.

According to him, the over a decade Boko Haram terrorism; is Nigeria’s
most pressing problem.

He therefore; urged Nigerians within and outside the state to
continually pray for peace and prosperity for the nation of our dear
country.

He said individual and communal obligations, are to be renewed for
citizens become more patriotic to their country, Nigeria.
