Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly at the Plenary on Monday showered encomium on former First Lady of Lagos State, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District on her 60th birthday celebration.
Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the House described Sen. Oluremi Tinubu as a woman of honor, integrity, substance and a woman of faith who used her position to touch many lives especially that of the less privileged.
“When serving as the First Lady, she came up with so many pet projects, she resuscitated Committee of Wife of Lagos State Officials, COWLSO to what it is today and up till now it has remained one of the everlasting pet projects by other First Ladies of the State.” He added.
“She is humble and her humility knows no bound. Since her time at the National Assembly and Senate, she has shown as she is, a good representative of our people. I wonder if we will ever get a representative that will smash her records”. The Speaker added that her quarterly feedback has remained one of the consistent ones in the history of representation in Lagos.
“I pray for long life, good health, happiness and success in all her endeavors and may Almighty God continue to sustain her family. I wish her happy birthday and many happy returns”.
Hon. Wasiu Sanni-Eshilokun, Deputy Speaker of the House said “She is an explicit woman; one of the qualities you will learn from Sen. Oluremi is how to be time conscious. She is well organized and worthy of emulation. I wish her many happy returns”.
Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, the Majority Leader in his contribution added that “She is one person who sacrifices and has dedicated her life to the emancipation of the oppressed people in the country”. “You will wonder when she enjoys her time with her husband. I commend her and wish her a happy birthday”.
Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu described Sen. Oluremi as an educationist with love for Nigeria, “Most of her programmes were mainly to see that people get educated especially the girl child”.
Her projects like New Era for Rural Women, One Day Governor, Spelling Bee and so many other philanthropic programmes she brought into the lives of the people of Lagos. May Almighty God continue to guide and bless her.
