Yobe Schools To Resume August 8,11, After Being Fumigated

The Yobe State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education; has
announced return of students to schools after their clearances and
fumigation against coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Boarding junior secondary school students; are to resume on Saturday,
August 8, 2020, while the ones of Government Day Secondary Schools
(GGDS) and Private Schools, are slated for Tuesday, August 11.
The Commissioner of Education, Dr. Muhammad  Sani, stated Thursday in
Damaturu that; “We wish to inform the general public that SS3 and
boarding junior secondary school students should unfailingly resume
August 8.”
On schools’ preparedness to resume, he said: “The Ministry has equally
advice all students to come with their face masks,” adding that school
authorities will also provide all preventative measures against
COVID-19 pandemic in premises of classrooms and hostels.
According to him, Governor Mai Mala Buni; has assured to abide with
all preventive guidelines provided by Nigerian Centre of Disease
Control (NCDC) and experts.
He therefore, urged the SS3 students to prepare for the WAEC, slated
for Monday, August 17, 2020.
“Our students are being prepared to get the best Senior Secondary
School Examinations (SSSE) results,” he said.
