The Borno State Chief of Staff, Dr. Babagana Wakil to Governor Babagana Zulum died in the early hours of Wednesday at his Maiduguri residence. The cause of death; may not be unconnected to ‘high blood pressure and ulcer; he had been managing before of his passing away. In a statement yesterday in Maiduguri, Spokesman to Governor, Isa Gusau disclosed that; “The late Wakil’s death may have nothing to do with coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic; because his funeral prayers are already announced to hold by 4 pm, today. On burial arrangements, he said: “It is from God we come and unto Him shall we return. “The funeral of late Chief of Staff, Dr. Wakil is to hold 4pm today (Wednesday) at his extended family residence in Shehuri North of metropolis. “May God in His infinite mercy, forgive his shortcomings, admit him into paradise and give his family the strength to bear our collective loss.” The last official engagement of late Wakil, was when he represented Governor Zulum on June 1, 2020 at foundation laying ceremony of Army referral hospital by Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai.
