The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Police Command, CP Undie Adie, psc+, has advised the good people of Ondo State to totally close their ears to the falsehood going round the State that a helicopter was seen dropping arms and ammunition to a rebel group in the forest of Arimogija, a boundary town between Ondo and Edo States, saying this is the handiwork of mischief- makers.
CP Adie noted, how possible could this be in these days of trained and untrained paparazzi dominating our social media space and none could have a video or a picture of the said helicopter. He maintained that Ondo Police Command with its spread in the State is doing everything possible to protect the people of Ondo State and would not succumb to any kind of blackmail or falsehood that will dent its reputation as the only State in the Country with the lowest crime rate.
He further warned those mischievous elements in the State to channel their thought patterns to a more sensible and productive thinking that will bring peace, tranquility and development to Ondo State, rather than resorting to widespread falsehood.
It would be recalled that a week ago, some hoodlums attacked and killed two men in the forest of Arimogija which almost sparked the anger of some youths in the community but the timely intervention of the Police forestall any breakdown of law and order, however the Commissioner of Police has ordered a discreet investigation into the murder case, while a combined team of Policemen and soldiers are on the trail of the killers of the two men.
CP Undie Adie, psc+, advises that people should use this period of the worldwide invasion of Covid-19 as a time to reflect on their lifestyle and attitude than to engage in rumours that could cause chaos in the society, saying those who live by falsehood die by falsehood.
