The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) lost 10 soldiers to the killing of 64 terrorists when troops clashed with Boko Haram insurgents on Tuesday at Darak, Cameroon. Troops, in the fierce fight, also captured eight terrorists with the destruction of three Boko Haram speed boats. In a statement Thursday in Maiduguri, the Spokesman of MNJTF, Col. Timothy Antigha disclosed that eight civilians were killed; with the wounding of eight personnel at the Darak battle field. “Two days ago, about 300 heavily armed Boko Haram terrorists invaded Darak in northern Cameroon. “They were met with stiff MNJTF resistance; resulting in the bloody fierce gun battle that lasted for several hours,” said Antigha in the statement. He said the bold and ruthless responses of task force, was to make the Lake Chad area untenable for terrorists to operate. “It is always desirable to ensure that facts and accuracy are not lost in the quest for urgency. This is to give an impression that evil is favoured over good,” warned Antigha, over alleged sympathy and support for Boko Haram terrorists’ activities.
