The Islamic State (IS) has expelled Abu Mus’ab Al-barnawi from being the leader of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), a faction of Boko Haram terrorists group. This was disclosed Tuesday by Ahmed Salkida, a confidant journalist to insurgents; on his Twitter Handle, according to the The Cable in Maiduguri, Borno state. According to him, Abu Abdullah Ibn Al-barnawi now replaces Al-barnawi as the new leader of ISWAP. Salkida in the twitter handle said that no reason was given for the sack of the eldest surviving son to Mohammed Yusuf, the founder of Boko Haram sect group; and was killed in August, 2009 in Maiduguri. “The new Wali (leader), according to an 18:13 audio recording, is Abu Abdullah Ibn Umar Al-barnawi. No reason was given for the expulsion of Abu Musab (Habib). Prior to yesterday’s sack, Al-barnawi was the spokesman of Boko Haram before the group pledged allegiance to Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). The Boko Haram group joined IS in mid-2015. It however; split from the group in 2016 over leadership tussle.
