IMO POLICE BAN INDISCRIMINATE USE OF COVERED PLATE NUMBERS

The Imo State Police Command has observed with serious concern, increased indiscriminate use of vehicles with covered plate numbers, unauthorized tinted glasses, revolving lights/siren, Police Spy Plate numbers and Government plate numbers on personal private vehicles.

Concerned with the serious security challenges it pose to the efforts of the Police Command in combating crime and criminality in the State, owners of such unauthorized vehicles and the general public are by this press release given one week from today to dismantle/remove them.

In the same vein, government officials who use government plate numbers on their personal private vehicles are advised to remove them without further delay.

The Commissioner of Police Imo State has directed strategized operations for a massive contravention and prosecution of any person(s) caught violating the laws guiding the use of such vehicles.
