Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe state; has signed N96.65 billion budget into law for the 2019 fiscal year. Assenting the budget on Tuesday at the Government House, Damaturu, he said there were slight adjustments made by State House of Assembly as earlier presented, with budgetary proposals remain unchanged. “There were little adjustments made by the Assembly; but the earlier presented N91.65 billion to the House remains intact,” he said. According to him, the capital budgetary expenditures stood at N41.38 billion or 45.2%, while N50.27 billion or 54.8% was earmarked for recurrent expenditures. He said that the budgetary performance for last year was 61.1 per cent or N56.37 billion total expenditures. Gaidam said that the total revenue receipts by state government; stood at N81.88 billion with 89% projected revenue target. He explained that the budget performance for recurrent and capital expenditures in 2018 was N68.55 billion or 74.4%. He said it is in line with this that the implementation of 2019 budget; will commence with an opening balance of N13.12 billion. Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Zanna Machina said that the legislators are to promote good governance with little adjustments in this year’s budget proposals.
