DICKSON TO POLITICIANS: LET GOD DIRECT YOUR ASPIRATION

Date:

Bayelsa State Governor, Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, has said God is not only interested, but is actually in charge of the affairs of men.

Governor Dickson, who spoke on Wednesday night at the September edition of the State’s monthly praise night at the King of Glory Chapel, Government House, Yenagoa, advised aspirants to do their best, but they must not forget that, the final result comes from above.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Affairs, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, quoted the governor, as saying that, the earth had no power to give what heaven had not given.

“Try your best and leave the rest to God. People always play their role and take credit but it is God all the way. He sees your destiny and He is the Maker of our destinies. It pays to surrender to His will because power belongs to God,” he admonished politicians.

Dickson recalled the travail of Israel’s King David with his son, Adonijah, in the Bible over succession and noted that, the plan of man is not always that of God.

“If He doesn’t make this one (office) available, you don’t know what he has planned next for you. It pays to surrender all to His will.

“You will be shocked the counter plans people had but at the end it was divine intervention that made me emerge as your governor in 2012 and 2016.

“Whatever opportunity you have is only an examination we are taking. From the story of David in the Bible, there is a reminder that we think of succession,” he said.

The governor also thanked the state and friends across Nigeria for what he described as very sincere, overwhelming and outpouring of grief and solidarity over the demise of his mother, Mrs. Goldcoast Dickson.
