WILLIAN CONFIRMS HE’D HAVE LEFT CHELSEA IF ANTONIO CONTE STAYED

Date:

During the transfer window, Willian was rumoured to be considering an exit from Stamford Bridge.

Barcelona and Manchester United were both named as possible suitors for Willian.

In the end the South American has stayed with the Blues. The 30-year-old is under contract with Chelsea until 2020.

Yet, Willian has confirmed he’s only still at Chelsea because Antonio Conte left.

Manchester United and Barcelona both wanted to sign the 30-year-old this summer and he would have sought a move had Conte not been sacked.

When asked if he would be at Chelsea with Conte still at the helm, he replied: “No chance. No. I’m here because I want to play for Chelsea. I will only leave if Chelsea want me to go.”
