‘Buhari’s speech a boost to fight Boko Haram insurgency in N’East’ says Shettima

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state has said that President
Muhammadu Buhari’s return and Monday morning broadcast to Nigerians;
will boost the fight against Boko Haram insurgency to the finish in
the Northeast sub-region of the country.

 

Shettima made the declarations on Monday in a statement issued by his
spokesman, Isa Umar Gusau to journalists in Maiduguri.
The statement reads in part: “I congratulated the entire people of the
North-East on the return of our President from a medical vacation in
London.

“The people of the Northeast should be congratulated as the major
beneficiaries of Buhari’s return because of his ‘open love, empathy
and keen interest’ in addressing the security challenges not only
Borno state; but the entire affected sub-region of this country.”
He said; besides Buhari’s zeal in fighting insecurity to lives and
property in Borno, the President had been magnanimous in appointing
individuals from the sub-region into key Federal Government’s
positions.

 

The appointments, according to him, include The Chief of Army Staff,
Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai, the National Security Adviser to the President,
Babagana Monguno, the Chief of Staff to the President, Alhaji Abba
Kyari and the embattled former Secretary to the Government of
Federation, David Babachir.
