PDP DIVIDED OVER APPEAL COURT JUDGEMENT

Date:

By Tayo Joseph Lagos, Nigeria.

The People Democratic Party is divided over the court of Appeal judgement that recognised Ali Modu Sheriff as the authentic chairman of the party.

While a group is set to appeal the  judgement another group is saying there is no need to appeal.

Prof. Adewale Oladipo the Party’s National Secretary said taking the case to Supreme Court would lengthen the leadership issues. Femi Martins another PDP member said “we should be thinking of lasting solutions to the crisis by moving forward and embrace peace. Going to Supreme court will only fuel the crisis”.

Those who are against the appeal are of the opinion that PDP need to work together to reclaim the Presidency. Apart from presidency, there are governorship elections in Osun and Anambra  before 2019.

Ali Modu Sheriff and Markafi

As these elections approach Independent Electoral Commision said it will drop Markafi from party chairmen list and add Ali Modu Sheriff name as soon as it is served with court papers.
