Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly recently re-elected in the just concluded assembly poll have shown gratitude to Lagosians and attributed their reelection success to God.
The Members made this known as the Assembly’s resumed plenary after a long recess prior to the concluded elections.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa in his remark thank All Progressives Congress members and Lagosians for trusting the lawmakers with their votes saying that the appreciation is timely, at the first sitting of the assembly after recess.
“I thank the people of Agege for being the first candidate to be re-elected for the 5th time. I thank everybody known and unknown for their support. May God love you; you won’t have the cause to regret voting us.” He assured.
The Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade showed gratitude to the people of Ikorodu for their peaceful conduct during the election. He noted that even though the contest was fierce, he thank God for the outcome.
Hon. Dipo Olorunrinu who won’t be joining the 9th Assembly showed gratitude to Almighty God for the opportunity of being part of the caliber of lawmakers of the 8thAssembly.
He added that “I was dedicated to the 8th Assembly even though I was a PDP member by heart I belong to the All Progressive Congress.”
Also, Hon. Adefunmilayo Tejuoso commended the people of Mushin Constituency I and II for their immense support to the winning of the seats of House of Representatives by the members of All Progressive Congress, APC.
She also acknowledged the Speaker for being a true leader and for his immense support to the legislators in the cause of the election.
In his contribution, Hon. Tunde Braimoh representing Kosofe Constituency I while giving thanks to God and the Speaker, urged the newly elected lawmakers to ensure that they embark on more periodic stakeholders forum and also improve the constituency projects to ensure that promises made are fulfilled. .
Hon. Mrs. Sangodara representing Surulere Constituency I expressed her gratitude to God and thanked the Speaker who handled all the lawmakers equally especially the Peoples’ Democratic Party, (PDP) members who defected to All Progressives Congress, (APC). “You cared for us as if you were not contesting” she stated.
The Speaker, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa thereafter implored his colleagues to improve on their past efforts. “We need to intensify our effort to ensure that Lagos State can stand on its own and move forward in order not to wait for the federal revenue before spending.”
While commending Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for contributing his quota to the progress of the State, he implored his colleagues to unite and show collective support to the incoming administration for the benefit of all Lagosians.
