A National Association of Proprietors of Private School Owners of Nigeria (NAPPSON) has been launched in Delta State. Speaking to reporters at the launch in Signature Hotel Warri, the nominated interim National President, Mr Bagh Ekrebe said NAPPSON is established to provide succour & relief to private schools owners in the state and the nation at large.
He said NAPPSON stands for rule of law and respect for the dignity of school owners. That NAPPSON will partner with Government and other stakeholders in the education and other sectors in reshaping and direct our educational system towards a functional nation- building
Mr Ekrebe congratulated the teaming NAPPSON members who attended the launching for a very successful outing inspite of acts of intimidation some of them experienced from those who thrive on the use of veto power to truncate peoples fundamental human right of free association & freedom of speech.
He said NAPPSON’s doors are open to only private school owners who are transparent, with integrity and are ready to be genuine partners with Government in nation building.
Mr Ekrebe said NAPPSON Local Government Coordinators appointed today, have been charged to take the sermon of the Association to the hinter land and be a source of assistance to private school owners, in maintaining the much desired high standard of education at the grass root level. He enjoined them to always liase with the Chief inspectors of Education in their domains to be properly informed of current Government and Ministry of Education directives as it affects the affects public & private schools.
Mr Ekrebe said NAPPSON has brought fresh air, fresh blood and sanity to private school administration in Delta State & beyond.
In his comments, a BOT member of NAPPSON, Chief Napoleon Odogu of PearlView Schools, commended the efforts and hardwork of the interim national executive in mobilising the good number of members who attended the launching. The Chief said its a good sign that NAPPSON will go places and feel in the yawning gap of functional democratic tenets an Association of Educators deserve. He called on all down trodden private school owners to join hands with NAPPSON to move private schools in Delta State and indeed the nation to the next level.
On his comments Pst David Oduaran, NAPPSON interim Financial secretary advised members to shun distractions from any quarter so they can remain focussed in their bid towards using private schools as veritable tool for nation building.
