About the Nigerian West Indies Association (NWIA)
Established in 1979 (45 Years) by collective representatives of individual Islands which constitute the Carribean Island, and who have now become residents in Nigeria.
Nigerian West Indian Association (NWIA)– from the Carribean Island, provides a community that engages migrants and descendants of the Caribbean Island (countries from the Carribean Island including; Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago); encourages projects towards the socio-economic growth and cultural development of their host community- Nigeria, through humanitarian support and financial grants.

The Nigerian West Indian Association (NWIA), being a Non Governmental Organisation in Nigeria, have an objective to coordinate and provide an organization for West Indian natives and descendants living in Nigeria towards identifying and mobilizing general resources (financial and material) for the purposes of developing their host country- Nigeria and also signify oneness of the people.

The Nigerian West Indian Association (NWIA), is a corporate body, for the purposes of its existence, being a designated association in Nigeria with the objective of coordinating and providing an organization for West Indian natives and descendants living in Nigeria towards identifying and mobilizing general resources (financial and material) for the purposes of developing their host country- Nigeria.
The Nigerian West Indian Association (NWIA)-Board is responsible for the general administration of the association and in particular, formulate policies for the regulation and development of the association, and the exercising and achievement of the functions of the Nigerian West Indian Association, among other responsibilities.

NWIA; The venue for the Carribbean Tropical Fiesta, is Whitesands School, in Lekki Phase 1, and the date of this iconic event is Saturday, July 20th, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM.
GODSPOWERPROJECT: What is the experience planning this event?
NWIA; Planning this event has been both exciting and challenging. It’s been a collaborative effort involving the coordination of various aspects such as entertainment, vendors, security, and promotions.
GODSPOWERPROJECT; What is the theme of the Carribbean Tropical fiesta?
NWIA; The theme of the Carribbean Tropical Fiesta is “Caribbean Tropical Celebration” which colorfully highlights the vibrant culture, music, and cuisine of the Caribbean region which is to be manifested on Saturday, 20th July 2024.
GODSPOWERPROJECT. Who are your target audiences for the Carribbean Tropical Fiesta?
NWIA; The target audience for the Carribbean Tropical Fiesta, include members of the Carribean community in Lagos, Nigeria, Africa, as well as the general public- especially those who we are interested in being part of our beautiful history, and vendors from all walks of life who want to showcase their wares.
GODSPOWERPROJECT; How do you intend to maximize social media towards the event?
NWIA; Social media will be utilized to educate, inform, and promote the event. Also to share updates, and engage with attendees before, during, and after the event. Platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter will be used to generate buzz, share photos and videos, and encourage digital interaction through contests and live updates.
GODSPOWERPROJECT; What security and crowd control measures are being considered for the event?
NWIA: Our major security and safety measures for the event include hiring trained security personnel among other arrangements in view.
GODSPOWERPROJECT; Are there going to be items for sale during the event?
NWIA; Yes, definitely, there will be items available for sale during the event, including Caribbean-inspired merchandise, arts and crafts, and food vendors offering authentic Caribbean cuisine.

NWIA: The sponsors for the Carribbean Tropical Fiesta, include local businesses, community organizations, and corporate sponsors who are interested in supporting cultural events and partnering community initiatives.
