Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni is to establish the Damaturu Industrial Park (DIP) to create jobs for the unemployed youths.
The industrial facilities tagged: “Damaturu Industrial Mega Village,” was captured in the State’s N163 billion 2023 budget.
Buni disclosed this, yesterday (Tuesday), while hosting the All Progressives Congress (APC) youths supporters at the Government House, Damaturu.
According to him, as the security situation in the State improves, more jobs will be created for the teeming unemployed youths in the state.
Besides, he added: “The employment of more youths in the Civil Service on permanent and pensionable jobs will remain a priority to the State government.”
He noted that this could enable the administration to fill existing vacancies in the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to improve service delivery.
“We must provide more employment opportunities for the jobless people,” he declared.
He attributed the establishment of DIP and investments to the peaceful disposition of youths across the state.
He said that the youth’s support has encouraged the administration to prioritize governance over politics in the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people.
While appreciating youths’ support, the Governor said, “I just want to thank the youths and to reassure you that; I am going to work tirelessly for you all
“You’re the most peaceful and respectful people that could ensure the efficient harness of human and capital resources for development and growth.”
Continued; “This is giving us much encouragement to do more by delivering services to the door steps of the people.”
He, therefore, called on the youths to be law-abiding, while going about their political activities peacefully.
He said the State government is prepared for the Saturday, March 18 Governorship and State House of Assembly polls.
