President Muhammadu Buhari is today (Monday) to inaugurate completed capital projects in the security, health, education and transport sectors of the economy in Yobe state.
The projects to be commissioned include the International Cargo Airport, Maternal and Child Healthcare Complex at the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital, a mega school, housing estate and the DMM in the state capital, Damaturu,
Unveiling Buhari’s one-day official working visit, yesterday (Sunday) in Damaturu, the Commissioner of Information and Culture, Muhammad Lamin disclosed: “Today, is a new chapter in the history of our State, as we are fully prepared to receive our President on his one-day working visit to our dear State.
“We’re all witnesses of the present administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni.”
He said that Buni has already redeemed most of his campaign promises in improving the living conditions of the people in the 178 wards in the State.
Besides, he added: “The Governor has completed most of the capital projects that will be inaugurated by the President in the four critical socio-economic sectors,” assuring that they will improve the living conditions of people that elected him into office.
“He has already redeemed most of its campaign promises on the completed projects in 17 local Councils,” he said, adding that including the ones in the state capital, Damaturu.
Besides, he noted that the performing Governor has also raised the socio-economic status of the electorates that voted him into office on May 29, 2019.
According to him the President will arrive at Damaturu on Monday, January 9, 2023 and land safely to commission the completed International Cargo Airport on Gashua road.
He further disclosed that Buhari will also commission 2, 350 competed housing units across the State,
Other projects to be inaugurated by the President in Damaturu; include a Police administrative block; as well as completed and equipped Police hospital in Damaturu.
Lamin, therefore, called on members of the public to come out en masse to give the President a rousing welcome to the state, as it is a hospitality to all people, irrespective of their political affiliations, religion and culture.
“We’re expecting the citizens to be law abiding and give the maximum support and cooperation to the military, police and other security agencies during the President’s visit,” he said.
