TROOPS KILL 26 BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS IN BORNO

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) in the Northeast; have killed 26 Boko Haram terrorists in Ngwom community of Mafa Council in Borno state.

The terrorists neutralized while crossing the Maiduguri-Dikwa road on 20 motorcycles into Sambisa Forest in Konduga Council.

Confirming the incident yesterday (Monday), in Maiduguri, a counter-insurgency expert, in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama; disclosed: “The troops achieved the feat while acting on credible intelligence,” stating that the terrorists were moving in the Mafa axis to attack a military post along the road.

According to him, the troops swiftly acted in collaboration with the Civilian JTF and laid an ambush against the terrorists and neutralized about 26 of them.

Besides, he added that the troops also captured a terrorist alive, while others fled with gunshot wounds towards the Forest.

On how insurgents were killed, he said: “The laid ambush triggered a heavy gunfire between the troops and fleeing terrorists.

“They later retreated and attempted fleeing, but the ground troops chased them and killed over two dozen terrorists.”

He noted that two members of the Civilian JTF were however; wounded during the fierce gun battle with the terrorists fleeing on motorcycles.

The troops also recovered two motorcycles and other weapons used in attacking communities in the Mafa-Dikwa axis.
