Troops, Civilian JTF Kill Dozens of Terrorists, Rescue Chibok Girl in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have killed dozens of Boko Haram terrorists in the Bula Dawa axis of Bama Council in Borno state.

The joint counter-insurgency operations with Civilian JTF, also led to the rescue of another Chibok girl, who later gave birth to twins.

Confirming the incident, yesterday (Monday), in Maiduguri, a counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama disclosed that the troops engaged and overwhelmed the insurgents with dozens of terrorists.

According to him, the surviving ones however; escaped with gunshot wounds towards Sambisa Forest of the Council.

On the rescue of Chibok girl, he said: “In the course of the encounter, troops successfully rescued Yana Pogu, a Chibok girl who was number 19 on the missing girls list,” stating that the girl was rescued along with four children.

Besides, he added that Yana was found with a four months old set of twins in an unhealthy condition.

He noted that some of the fleeing terrorists had attempted to ambush their own troops.

Makama said that; while acting on credible information, the troops responded swiftly with aggressive fire powers, forcing them to flee into various directions.

“More women were rescued after the encounter,” adding that they were handed over to the 21 Armoured Brigade. Bama for medical attention.
