The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, has said the 10 poorest states in Nigeria are in the North.
The former Anambra State Governor stated this during an interactive session with the Arewa leaders in Kaduna State on Monday.
Speaking at the event, the presidential candidate said he would eradicate poverty if elected as president of Nigeria in 2023.
He added that the North would benefit a lot from his administration as he would eradicate poverty in the region.
Obi also said that the highest number of out-of-school children are from the North, Stressing that education would be his priority if elected as president.
The presidential hopeful also noted that the fight against insecurity would be the first thing he will do when he assumes office in 2023.
