A Nigerian Twitter user, Osaretin Victor Asemota, has given his prediction on the forthcoming general elections.

Taking to his Twitter page on Tuesday morning, Osaretin said it will be difficult for Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to win the 2023 election.

According to the tweep, if Peter Obi wins, it will be the greatest miracle and biggest correction in Nigerian political history.

In his own words: “My prediction, it will be hard for Obi to win this election but in 4 years his win is guaranteed. I think he is playing a longer game than people realize. If he wins, it will be the greatest miracle and biggest correction in Nigerian political history. If he doesn’t, ?opposition.

“Both instances aren’t good for traditional politicians. The momentum he will build in 4 years will overturn everything we see today. This whole “Obidient” movement will be a joke compared to an organized Labor Party with young people ready to run and win. My hope is for both.

“The miracle is possible. Vote wisely. Ignore the paid hacks and tribal bigots. Spread the message.”

His tweet has generated reactions from Nigeria on Twitter.

A tweep, John Ibekwe said: “The odds are really stacked against him despite the huge youth support. The old establishment has an insane spread that is oiled by corrupt money. I sincerely hope an unprecedented alliance happens before February, this appears to be the only hope for the greatest political upset.”

Replying to Ibekwe, Mr Shutterwave wrote: “Pls which odds. Give me reasons why Tinubu or Atiku will win 2023 election. In a sane society, next year election Should be a walk in the park for Peter Obi.”

Another tweep, Infinity, told Mr Shutterwave to leave emotions and be logical. “I’m voting Peter Obi too, but his win would be a miracle.

“These people have major stakeholders and influencers in their pocket, coupled with long-term political structures.

“I really hope & pray PO wins, but it will be a miracle ?he tweeted.

Victor O. Abisoye, on his part, said: “The obidients have destroyed any chance at any alliance. It won’t happen.”

John Ibekwe replied Abisoye: “What the OBIdients destroyed was the monopoly of narratives. Those who once controlled the narratives have given the dog a bad name so they can hang it.Every camp has its fair share of ‘uncouth supporters’. You see more of the OBIdients because they dominate the SM space. Simple.”

@cuyemesiogo also weighed in, saying: “I am obidient. The only way obi can emerge is through a merger or low key alliance. As it stands now Peter obi cant win. But anything can happen before Feb. We are hopeful. We are working towards his emergence. We cant afford to wait for another 4 yrs. Power must change hands.”

@TeeAdeogun, another Twitter user, replied Osaretin: “I just hope you’re right, cos he failed to play such long team game in Anambra.. jumping from APGA to PDP now to Labour. APGA and Labour would be bigger opposition parties today if Miniko and Obi had stayed and built the platform that made then governors.

“Tinubu, played the long term game and built a party from near zero ( AD ) to APC we have today. Most Nigeria politicians lack the discipline to commit to a long term strategy or goal even for their own ambitions.”

In response to @TeeAdeogun, Isaac @Bullofjohn said: “Tinubu used Lagos money bro. No state in the east has funds to fund other state’s elections.

“And APGA didn’t want to expand. Peter was never the leader of APGA.”

@FlodyMani who seems to be a supporter of APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, replied @TeeAdeogun, @Bullofjohn and Osaretin.

He said: “Tinubu was super rich before he joined politics same thing as Obi. No excuse for not trusting and building your brand. Atiku is suffering today because of jumping around you think Obi won’t suffer the same thing?.. emotions apart.”

@Bullofjohn who disagreed with @FlodyMani said: “Tinubu was super rich from what businesses? And you think his personal wealth (if he had) would be enough to fund elections in other states?”

@FlodyMani reiterated: “With the use of search engine you will definitely know how he makes his money. Tinubu never invested only on himself he built people around him who also understand his plan and ambition.”
