Zulum has distributed 300 bicycles to Biu Community Higher Islamic (BCH) school.
According to him, the distribution of bicycles to over 1,500 students, was to prevent absenteeism among the students.
Flagging off the distribution, yesterday (Wednesday), on Biu, Zulum, disclosed; “The distribution of bicycles and text and exercise books will increase school attendance and promptness.”.
He noted that school absenteeism and lateness have affected students’ performances in national examinations of NECO and WAEC.
He said that most of the rural communities are not motorable, but the students could ply the paths and dirt roads without being late or absent from the schools.
He further disclosed that four other technical and mega schools were distributed with about 1, 250 bicycles in the last 12 months.”Similar schools were distributed of 1, 500 bicycles in North Senatorial District of the state,” said the Governor
