ISWAP, Boko Haram Clash Kills 29 Terrorists In Borno

The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWA) and Boko Haram terrorists have clashed, killing 29 fighters in Bama council of Borno state.

The ISWAP fighters led by Ba’ana Chigori invaded the Boko Haram terrorists for six hours at the weekend (Friday) in the Gabehari/Mantari/Masari axis of Sambisa Forest.

A counter-insurgency expert, in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, stated, yesterday (Monday), in Maiduguri that the reprisal attacks triggered fierce gun battle between the two rival terror groups.

“ISWAP terrorists overpowered the rival Boko Haram and took them unawares, killing over two dozen fighters,” he said, adding that the surviving terrorists however retreated, while women and children were spared unhurt in the clash.

He said that after the reprisal attacks, bodies of the terrorists were buried the following day, September 17, 2022, at Abu Iklilima home in Gabehari village.

According to him, the reprisal multiple attacks claimed the lives of several Boko Haram terrorists including their commander, Kundu.

Besides that reprisal attacks, 23 fighters were also killed in the Bula Shaitan camp in Bama and Konduga council of the state.
