The Yobe State Government has upgraded seven Primary Health Centres (PHCs) to fully fledged General Hospitals.
The upgrade of healthcare centres, are in line with the State Government’s efforts to improve healthcare delivery services to the people.
Secretary to the State Government, Baba Mallam Wali, yesterday (Wednesday), in Damaturu, disclosed that the upgrade of the healthcare centres was for each council headquarters to have a General Hospital.
He said that the seven hospitals are sited at Nguru, Yusufari, Jajimaji, Babangida, Bara, Buni/Gari and Machina, a border community with Niger Republic.
According to him, the upgraded General Hospitals are to be managed by the State’s Hospital Management Board (HMB).
