DIG SOUTH-WEST VISITS OWO; CONDOLES WITH VICTIMS OF ATTACK AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE

 The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of South-West who also doubles as the DIG Force Criminal Investigation Department, DIG Johnson Babatunde Kokumo, psc, mni, has visited the ancient town of Owo for on the spot assessment of the attack on St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Owaluwa, Owo, Ondo State.
The DIG who represented the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Alkali Usman Baba, NPM, psc(+), Fdc, after his visit to the Church paid a courtesy call to the Olowo of Owo, after which he visited the victims of the attack in the hospital, he prayed for their quick recovery and also for the repose of the souls of the deceased.
The DIG said the unprovoked attack on the Church will be thoroughly investigated as he described the attack as an unfortunate and a monumental loss and such an incident must be properly handled to ensure that all those who took part in this sacrilegious act are brought to book.
He condoles with the Church, Community and the entire State and also
informed the people of the IGP’s order that all relevant units of the force and gadgets  needed to track and arrest the perpetrators be brought to bare until the culprits of this dastardly act are rounded up expeditiously.
In the same vein, the IGP’s Special Squad, IGP’s Intelligence Response Team have also arrived the State to support the Command and ensure the villains are arrested.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Oyeyemi Adesoye Oyediran psc, fsi, has also ordered that security personnel be posted to worship centres, market areas and all public places in the command.
