Amaechi Urges Borno Delegates To Vote With Conscience, Fear of God

Date:

The Presidential aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Rotimi Amaechi has urged Borno party delegates to vote with conscience during the primary elections.

The 341 party delegates were drawn from the 27 Local Government Areas of Borno state.

Addressing the delegates, yesterday (Sunday) in Maiduguri, Amaechi disclosed: “The magic I will do is to talk to your conscience,” he said, adding that any man who does not have a conscience; is not worthy to be alive.

He stated that it’s that conscience that makes you not to go against God.

Besides, he also warned that if anyone goes against God will go to hell.

The aspirant, explained that it is that conscience that makes you to remember somebody who has done well for the people.

“This is the only way to pay back,” he declared.

As one good turn deserves another, Governor Babagana Zulum should urge the delegates to vote for him at the APC primaries.

According to him, the problem of Nigeria is you and I.

Lamenting previous elections, he said: “When they come and tell you stories, some candidates and will bring money, you vote for them.

“You’ve forgotten that as at the time you’re voting that you have given you money, you are solving a temporary problem and not a permanent one.”

He urged the delegates to choose candidates that can deliver and treat their voting during the primaries and 2023 general elections.

This, he added, will enable the people return to their houses safely; like in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Noting that; during the period no body stops you, while travelling form Port Harcourt to Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

If the delegates and electorates cannot take the country forward, let them take the citizens back to the 1970’s where school fees were minimal with qualified teachers to produce good graduates.

Continuing, he declared: “If all of us in Nigeria were working in shame, will you’ve time to kill?” he asked, noting that are some good politicians.

He said that when the delegates vote for at the primaries, they have transferred the responsibility to partner with others to change the country.

“Trust me. I don’t say what I do not mean,” he assured.

According to him, he had been a speaker and a governor for eight years each and ministered for seven years at respective age of 34, 42 and 50.

He said that by God’s will, he will be the President at 58.

While declaring free education in Rivers State, he said that he built 300-500 primary schools with solar-powered 14 blocks of classrooms and standby generators.

Other completed projects to reduce insecurity, poverty and employment include the building and equipping of 23 Comprehensive Health Centres along with the provision of an ambulance to each of them.

He added that 400 doctors were also employed to fight poverty and unemployment among youths.

Responding, Governor Zulum disclosed that the country is always in problems, because the leaders at the national and state levels have abandoned the poor, who constitutes most of the electorates.

“There is serious corruption across the country at all levels,” he said, warning that unless Nigeria gets it right to move forward for economic development and growth.

He prayed for a good candidate that can deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Borno state and the country at large.

He assured that the people will make good use of their conscience to elect their leaders at the polls.
