Buni Distributes 2.2M Treated Nets To Fight Malaria In Yobe

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has distributed 2.2 million treated nets to fight malaria that affected many children and adults in communities.

According to him, the regular use of nets has led to enormous progress in the fight against malaria that claimed many lives.

Distributing the nets, yesterday (Tuesday), to mark World Malaria Day, in Damaturu, Buni represented by Executive Secretary, Yobe State Primary Health Care Management Board, Dr. Babagana Machina, disclosed that the State Government and development partners will embark for another distribution of nets across the state in July,

He said that the exercise was to prevent and safeguard communities against the deadly scourge among children.

Besides, he added that has malaria led to the loss of millions of man hours and productivity in the various sectors of the economy.
