Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State and ex-Caretaker Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has been welcomed by a mammoth crowd of people into the state.
Welcoming the Governor, yesterday (Friday), in Damaturu, state capital, the main streets leading to the Government House, were overwhelmed with massive crowd of people,.
They include youths, women and members of the political and economic associates across the state.
Buni returned to his state a day after officially handing over office to the newly elected Chairman of APC, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu in Abuja.
The Government House and Maiduguri Road were at standstill, as over 1,000 motorists coming from Kano and Maiduguri, had to wait for about an hour, before proceeding to the destinations.
The mammoth crowd were drawn from the 17 councils, and the neighbouring states of Borno, Gombe, Adamawa and Bauchi, 260 kilometres from Damaturu, the state capital.
Responding at the Damaturu organised reception, he applauded the people of the state and the four neighbouring states for welcoming him to the State.
He pledged that about 300,000 will be empowered in the various sectors of the economy to boost agricultural and livestock production.
The reports gathered that Damaturu the state capital, where Buni was received, was at a standstill with thousands of people from the 17 local government areas and the neighboring states of Borno, Gombe, Adamawa, Taraba, and Bauchi.
He, therefore, urged members of APC and Stakeholders to support the new National Working Committee (NWC) in delivering the party in 2023 polls.
“I thank you for me as the Chairman Caretaker Committee of our great party,” he said.
