The National Assembly member, Hon. Zakariya’u Galadiam, representing Bade/Jakusko federal constituency is training 200 youths in vocational skills and entrepreneurship development in Yobe State.
According to him, the youths are engaged in skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF).
Flagging off the training, at the weekend (Friday) in Gashua and Jakusko, Galadiam disclosed that; “The youths’ training under ITF was to make them self-reliant and contribute to their quotas to economic development and growth in the State.”
He noted that the youths are agents of economic development that could trickle down into various communities at the grassroots.
He said that the three months training are to acquire skills in the Plaster of Paris (PoP)/Painting housing sector and tailoring.
According to him, besides the skills acquisitions, they are to be provided with the starter packs tools and accessories.
He further disclosed that the starter packs comprise sewing machines and PoP and painting tools.
“They are to be provided with takeoff grants and other stipends to enable them set up and own their business outfits,” he said.
The beneficiaries, therefore, pledged to utilize the acquired skills and grants to fight poverty and unemployment in the federal constituency.
